The land comprising the town of Weston was originally granted to Hampden Academy in 1803, and the following year, Park Holland surveyed the grant's boundaries. Vital record keeping in the area began in 1814. In 1820, settlers named Smith, Davenport, and Gilpatrick made their homes on the Hampden Academy Grant. The town was surveyed in 1835 by a surveyor after whom Weston was named, and it was officially incorporated on March 17, 1835, bringing the commencement of official town records.
Fifty years later, in 1885, a portion of Weston was annexed to neighboring Danforth. Weston marked its sesquicentennial in 1985, a milestone commemorated by Basil E. Kinney's historical book, 'Weston Sesquicentennial Memorial: History of Weston 1835-1985.'
