Aroostook.com is run by Visual Heights Internet Technologies (“we”, “us”). If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.

Using the site

You may read and share the pages of the site for your own, non-commercial use. Please do not copy the site in bulk, try to break into it, or use it in a way that harms it or other people.

The information on the site

• Our community, region and guide pages are put together from public sources, and the sources are listed on each page. We check what we publish, but we cannot promise that everything is complete, current or free of errors. Please confirm anything important before you rely on it.
• Our guides to hunting, fishing, paddling and other outdoor activities are for general information only. They do not give rules, seasons, permits, fees, water levels or current conditions, and they are not safety advice. Always check with the agency that manages the place you plan to visit, and take care outdoors.
• Weather forecasts come from the National Weather Service and can change quickly. Do not rely on them for decisions about your safety.
• Some pictures on the site are illustrations made with AI tools. They show typical scenes and are not photographs of a particular place.

Links to other sites

Pages may link to other websites, including the websites of sponsors. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them.

The text, design and pictures on the site belong to us or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. Facts are not owned by anyone, but the way we have written and arranged them is ours.

Page sponsorships

Sponsorships on Aroostook.com are open only to businesses and organizations located in Aroostook County, Maine. A request from outside the county has to be authorized by us first. These are the terms of a sponsorship:

• Kinds of sponsorship. An exclusive sponsor is the only sponsor of a page. A title sponsor has the large card near the top of a page that also offers supporting sponsorships. A supporting sponsor has a smaller card in the row of up to three below the page content. A supporting sponsorship can be bought only when the page has a title sponsor.
• Exclusive means exclusive on that page. It does not stop another business from sponsoring a different page.
• Term. A sponsorship lasts one year from the date we receive your payment. Your card appears on the page once we have received and recorded your payment.
• Holding a spot. While you arrange payment, we hold the spot for you for a short time, up to 14 days from the date we email your invoice. If payment does not arrive, the spot is released.
• What we show. Your card shows the name, logo and message you give us. We approve them before they appear, and we may refuse or remove anything that is misleading, unlawful, offensive, or not about your business or organization.
• Changes. You can ask us to change your card at any time during the term.
• Renewal. We will contact you within the 30 days before your term ends to ask whether you want to renew. If a sponsorship is not renewed in that time, it ends and the spot may be offered to someone else.
• When a title sponsorship ends. The page’s supporting sponsors have the first chance, for 14 days, to take the title spot. A supporting sponsor who upgrades receives a new one-year title term from the day they pay, with a credit for the unused days of their supporting term. After the 14 days the title spot is open to anyone.
• No promises about results. A sponsorship is a placement on a page. We do not promise any number of visitors, clicks or sales.
• Payment and billing questions. Please contact us about any question about a payment or a charge.

Limits on our responsibility

We provide the site as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site or relying on its information, or from the site being unavailable for a time.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may change the site and these terms. We will post the new terms on this page and update the date below. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
